Some of our earliest learning relates to RULES for self, home, school and community.
Following Rules, until they start to feel stifling or oppressive – and we start to Reason “Why do this?” – generally leads to positive outcomes for what we want to accomplish.
Rules can mean a sequence of activity such as in mathematics when we first learn addition, subtraction, multiplication and then division.
Online research reveals any number of Rules for Health and Fitness. Even our annual 1st Monday in January posting of Ten Tips for A Happy Health Life gently states Rules for healthy living.
If we want to improve Health and/or Fitness, how can we make Life’s physiology rules – especially ones we shy away from – work for us?
1. Let’s start with REASON. Ask ourselves the five good journalist questions: What, When, Why, Where and How about what health and fitness means to us and why we want to include optimum health in our being.
2. Look at established healthy living behavior patterns (RULES) or even create sensible structures of our own that we will follow.
3. Let our heart (emotions) ROMANCE us (desire) into the Rules we have chosen for our healthy living benefit.
Love the Rules for themselves and for what we yearn!
4. Bask in and Enjoy for sure, feel good health and fitness RESULTS.
