As we enter October and pink ribbons abound notifying the public that we are in breast cancer awareness month, I encourage us –
The Choir – to chime in with the American Cancer Society that lifestyle choices such as “avoiding tobacco products, staying at a healthy weight, staying active throughout life, and eating a healthy diet may greatly reduce a person’s lifetime risk of developing or dying from cancer.“
Switching gears now…As many of you know, this last Saturday, October 3rd, at College Rolando Library, Zumba Gold® class participants gathered to present creative endeavors emanating from September Self-Improvement Month. As you see in the picture below, a great time was had by all.
We enjoyed sharing meaningful paintings, personal poetry, a church comfort prayer quilt, e-mailed sculpture and hand-made Raggedy Ann photos, Kulintang musical instrument from the Philippines (with live performance,) fresh fruit skewers, cookies and cobbler from Armenia and Germany, American cream puffs and computer-generated Fitness Class Schedule. The joy of our day was in making new friends and discovering the richness of our diversity. WF!
