With the return of March as National Nutrition Month, it seemed fitting that we start from the Outside-In by identifying foods which contribute to healthy skin.
Before food, though, the essential nutrient water, needs to be given priority in our quest for a shining epidermal outer layer.
A quick Google search on healthy skin leads us to the following Mayo Clinic list of skin-friendly foods:
* Carrots, apricots, and other yellow and orange fruits and vegetables.
* Spinach and other green leafy vegetables.
* Tomatoes.
* Blueberries.
* Beans, peas and lentils.
* Salmon, mackerel and other fatty fish.
* Nuts.
Since we all know that beauty (of which healthy skin is a component) is more than skin deep, let’s conclude this blog post with an excerpt from Michael Tyler’s children’s book The Skin You Live In.
“So whenever you look at your beautiful skin, from your wiggling toes to your giggling grin…Think how lucky you are that the skin you live in, so beautifully holds the “You” who’s within.” WF!
