ONE DAY AT A TIME

Our One Day At A Time title serves as a health, including mental health, and fitness salvo throughout a variety of philosophies and religions.

This time-bound phrase lifts the burden of too much to do, change, think about or emotionally carry into manageable perspective.

Starting first with emotions and perhaps stinking thinking, which sometimes can stop us in our tracks from whatever we intended to accomplish – One Day At A Time gives us perspective on choosing how to experience or alter feelings and a perplexed mind.

A parallel phrase, from the ancient Chinese I Ching1, is If I keep a green bough in my heart, the singing bird will come.

In this instance “green bough” means if we remain free of desire(s) regarding the future while also not clinging to the past, then the “singing bird,” a peaceful, joyous heart will prevail.

Living One Day At A Time
keeps us in the present moment of the green bough state which allows us to make the best choices for ourselves for that day.

It directs us to the actual moment of choosing how we eat, exercise, work and spend time with others.

One Day present moment thinking/feeling helps us answer the self-question of what is most important for me, and those for whom I might be responsible, right now?

We aren’t being irresponsible, or not future-oriented, by living in today.

If need be, One Day At A Time even directs us to sit down with the planning calendar today and schedule appointments and future activities.

Living One Day At A Time free’s us from worry’s tyranny. It answers the question….”Can I do anything about this problem or circumstance right now?

If not, we can turn our attention to what is called the next indicated step, which could be as simple as doing the dishes.

Life really is OK and Wonderful when we live it One Day At A Time. WF!
