Have you been thrilled with the 2024 Olympics?
We enjoyed an opening night resplendent with overhead vistas of Paris, dynamic dance choreographies, nations of athletes waving to crowds while cruising the Seine River and finally Celine Dion’s rendition of Edith Piaf’s song, ‘L’Hymne à l’Amour.’
What about the drama, exhilaration, joys and disappointments which have occurred within the games themselves? The marvelous athleticism of each sport’s participants?
Let’s take a quick trip down Olympics Memory Lane for a few events which may stand out. Then we will step back into our personal relevance for this year’s games.
1. Jesse Owens triumph’s over racism in 1936 Olympics Track & Field events.
2. Nadia Comaneci’s 1976 Perfect 10 score in Gymnastics.
3.. Michael Phelps swimming career, particularly the 2008 Eight Gold Medals.
4. Kerry Strug’s nearly flawless vault jump which ended by sticking a one-foot landing due to injured ankle.
5. Usain Bolt’s Triple-Triple three Golds in Three separate Olympics.
6. Katie Ledecky’s swimming dominance with 9 Gold Medals so far.
7. Simone Biles’ return to Gymnastics Gold and Mental Health Glory.
As this year’s Olympic Games continue, let’s access our own inner champion.
You know that Gold Medal winner…the one whose spirit soars every time we go out the door for a walk, or group exercise class.
Let Glory Days return each time we pick up a weight or go to yoga class. The Olympian resides in All of Us. WF!
