Lifestyle Comfort Habits was a phrase that surfaced during last week’s blog.
Can thinking about ways to overcome pernicious comfort habits – those gradual, entrenched, subtle, harmful effect behaviors which, given enough time, erode health, fitness and joyful living – overcome them?
Can getting rid of pernicious habits become as easy as changing how our mind/body is attracted to them?
Let’s consider a couple of common phrases which shore up this thought…
1. That No Longer Works For Me.
In employment terms, if a person no longer works for us, he or she is no longer around.
They have stopped producing goods or services for us and have left the premises.
We stopped paying them.
2. It Doesn’t Serve Me Well.
Doesn’t “Do It” for me anymore. Does Not Get the Job Done as we would like.
Easy to eliminate because it is No Longer Useful for the purpose we originally allowed it into our life.
“Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life” is a sentence written and paraphrased by acclaimed leaders in science, religion and business.
Let’s start today.
Step back and take a look at those Comfort Habits which way down inside erode our well-being.
Tell those Habits… Thank you for your service – But You do not work for me anymore. You no longer serve me.
It’s time for life-affirming, good habits to take your place.
