BLACK-EYED PEAS – Vitality Tip #64

Did you eat black-eyed peas on New Year’s Day for good luck and prosperity? If not, you still have 362 days (remember 2016 is a February 29 Leap Year) to consume plenty of black-eyed peas, beans and other legumes.

Research tells us, according to Johannah Sakimura, Registered Dietitian, that including beans as a regular part of our diet helps reduce LDL “bad” cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure.

Interesting coincidence that New Year’s Day historical “good luck” food translates to a “good health” meal for the rest of the year. Astounding how simple life’s wisdom can be. WF!
