THE CREEP

From Halloween, through Thanksgiving, enter December’s Holidays, past the Football Playoffs, then the SUPER BOWl, and finally, Valentine’s Day – The Creep’s last revenge ends today.

Many of us experience the Creep every year – Those five to twelve stubborn pounds which add up here and there when we celebrate holidays and festive gatherings with friends and family from end of October through mid-February.

(It has been quite wonderful for the vaccinated among us to socialize with loved ones during the 2021-2022 Holiday season – even if we felt the need to wear masks – and the Creep was doing its thing.)

At last night’s Super Bowl-fest as I finished off the very tasty, spicy air-fried chicken wings made by a good friend, my Mother’s famous words drifted through my mind….”My Diet Starts Tomorrow,” she would say – particularly when full.

YAY! “TOMORROW” and END of the Creep START TODAY.

Toss the cookies (I did.) Say “No” to the rolls and extra helpings of anything.

Add in a couple extra exercise days each week.

Put sparkle on the New Year’s Resolutions. We’re off and running.

The Creep is over.

Long live Lean, Mean and Don’t Distract Me from the Happy Scale to Come.

1. A FREE Happy Monday Get Strong online class is held at 4:00 p.m. every Monday in February, except for Presidents’ Day, February 21, 2022 – a U.S. federal holiday.
In these no-charge introductory group sessions you’ll learn home-based weight training exercises designed to prevent sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss.) Your strength and balance will improve with light dumbbells and resistance band exercises. We have FUN getting STRONG!

3. Essentrics® Aging Backwards in-person classes strengthen, stretch and invigorate us.

The 4-week Series, sponsored by the City of Seal Beach, STARTS this Friday, February 18, 2022 and runs through March 11, 2022. Enrollment fee of $58 includes a $10 City registration fee.
