19th Place? – Vitality Tip #25

This week, April 6 through April 12, 2015, the American Public Health Association (APHA) brings together communities across the United States to observe National Public Health Week, http://www.nphw.org.

NPHW_(2)By clicking through the NPHW website I learned that San Diego County ranked 19th out of 57 California counties in lifestyle factors that influence how healthy residents are and how long we are likely to live. (Marin County ranked first.) California itself ranked 17th out of the 50 United States in overall health rankings.

Being in the top 1/3 is okay – but these numbers show we have work to do. Onward for speaking up and modeling healthy behavior – with joy and gratitude, of course – everywhere we find ourselves. WF!
